Pedro Domingos Arquitectos is a Lisbon-based architectural studio renowned for its minimalist approach that harmoniously integrates modern design with the natural landscape. The studio’s work is characterized by clean lines, geometric forms, and a refined use of materials, creating spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
One of the studio’s notable projects is Casa Luum, a four-bedroom villa located in the hills of Faro, Algarve. Built upon the foundation of an old ruin, Casa Luum exemplifies Domingos’ commitment to preserving the essence of local architecture while introducing contemporary elements. The villa features white concrete floors, white walls and ceilings, wooden window frames, and steel sliding doors, creating a serene and cohesive atmosphere. Water elements, such as stone-made washbasins and showers, are integral to the design, adding a tactile quality to the spaces.
The studio’s dedication to architectural excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Mies van der Rohe Award nomination in 2021 and the FAD Award in 2022.
